  1. An osprey is a BIRD of prey Pandion 
  2. haliaetus, the single member of the family 
  3. Pandionidae, sometimes erroneously called 
  4. `fish hawk'. To catch fish, it plunges feet 
  5. first into the water. Dark brown above and a 
  6. striking white below, the osprey measures 
  7. 60cm (2ft) with a 2m (6ft) wingspan.
